The Powerboat Level 2 course introduces beginners (both adults and teenagers) to the basics of powerboating, covering essential skills both on and off the water to safely operate a RIB/smaller motorboat. The certificate provides the basis of the International Certificate of Competence and also the requirement for hiring a RIB/smaller motorboat in the UK.

The course is suitable for beginners and should be considered by anyone intending to 'go out on the water' to teach boat handling and seamanship, both practical and theory sessions are included to safely maneuvre a RIB/small motorboat at both slow and faster speeds including man overboard recovery, berthing, anchoring, IRPCS, tides, weather etc.

Provided with the course is the RYA Start Powerboating book (G48) and the RYA Powerboat Scheme, Syllabus & Logbook (G20)
