A basic understanding of powerboating
The Powerboat Level 1 course provides a practical introduction to motorboats operating in local waters - suitable for a complete novice providing both practical and theory knowledge on safety and boat handling skills on a RIB/smaller motor boat.
The one day course is a good introduction to younger children of 'boaty' families for assisting in the safe operation of their RIB or other vessel. Topics include safety kit and equipment, handling the craft safely, both at speed and maneuvering slowly, mooring and anchoring and basic IRPCS in operating on the sea in the local area.
Provided with the course is the RYA Start Powerboating book (G48) and the RYA Powerboat Scheme, Syllabus & Logbook (G20)
